Joan of Arc - "And blood comes out!"

My 2 yr old, Lily - loves war stories.
First exposed by the scriptures, then it progressed into Pooh bear fighting robots....

My husband took this liberty to expose her to historical figures, like Joan of Arc.
He went into great detail about how she put on the Armor of God and got on her knees to ask for help before she fought. He explained with large hand gestures what it meant to honor your country and why freedom is such a high priority.

A few nights later my mom was visiting. She rocked Lily that night and offered to tell a bed time story.
Lily jumped to her feet and stared narrating with her body -

"Grandma! tell me that story about that Joan of the Arc when she was fighting all these guys and got stabbed in the heart like that -- *STAB* --
and blood comes out! -- *running fingers down her chest*

Then, then they took her in that tent and tied her up

-- *grabs her own wrist* -- like that!
and burned her with fire!"

ummm.... I don't remember the story being told like that to a two year old...
I guess the symbolism didn't sink in....

Grandma was horrified.

I was like-
*facepalm*
*deep breath*

"How do I explain this one?"
